Re-elect Alex
for Councillor
Town of The Blue Mountains
Personal Background

I most likely should have been a landscape architect. Instead, I made my way into the working world after high school, grew apples, made snow, worked in development and construction. I’ve been married 40 years to Linda, who worked for BTI in Thornbury. Our daughter McKenzie teaches at the Boundless School, an outdoor education not-for-profit live-in high school on the Madawaska River.
We enjoy skiing, curling, fishing, canoeing, backcountry camping, and travelling.
I served on Thornbury council at age 22, prior to amalgamation. On Thornbury council under Mayor Pyatt and Reeve Sheridan, we did a lot. We entered into an agreement on the harbour, bought land for the town hall, started a conversation with the Georgian Trail, did sewer and water projects, foot bridge at the harbour, small developments and increased the size of our cemetery at little or no cost to the municipal taxpayer, using municipal tools. We got a lot done with very little money.
For the council term 2022-2026 I was a elected as a councillor and served on these committees.
